Isn't there a DOS utility that will allow you take a chunk of your DOS partition and make it available to Linux. I think it is called cfdisk. I think you have to free up space on your drive for linux. If you don't want Windows 98 than just fdisk it and than Linux will use all the free space for it's partition.
