Sorry for the stupid question, but I can't figure out how to get dpkg to
get the apt package. I assume I need to tell it what FTP site and directory
to look at, and what package name to get/install, but I have no idea of
what the syntax is for this command. I've found the apt package
(apt_0.1.3.deb at
ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/slink/main/binary-i386/admin/), but what's the
dpkg syntax for getting and installing it? If it would be any easier, I can
ftp it to the local drive, then dpkg it to install it (but if so, where
does the file need to be before I run dpkg?). Thanks for any help.
