As part of the upgrade to libc6, all old libc5 development packages should be removed; if you want to compile libc6 binaries, you need to install the libc6 development packages (libc6-dev, libstdc++2.8-dev, librx1g-dev etc.) > How do I go back to 1.3 as safely as possible?!?
