I get the following error when starting X (xbase 3.3.2.1-1 from hamm): System: `/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/xkbcomp -w 1 -R/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb -xkm -m us -em1 "The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:" -emp "> " -eml "Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server" keymap/xfree86 /var/tmp/xfree86.xkm'The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports: > Error: Cannot open "/var/tmp/xfree86.xkm" to write keyboard description > Exiting Couldn't load XKB keymap, falling back to pre-XKB keymap
Whatever keymap is used is lacking the backspace. What is needed to fix this?
