I have a hamm system with a STB Nitro 3D / 4MB video card, using the S3V
server from XFree86 3.3.2.1-1. The display is managed by xdm.
The problem is the about 75% of the time when I end a session (normal WM
is afterstep, but the problem happens with others as well), the machine
locks hard and vertical bars of color are displayed on the screen. The
only way to get it back is to hard boot; it does not respond to pings from
remote hosts, etc.
This does not happen when I use Accelerated X 4.1. Any ideas would be
appreciated...
