I dont know about .ps files, but I understand .pdf to be a format Adobe created, for use with Adobe Acrobat. You have to Buy Adobe Acrobat.. and it is expensive. (Again, I am not sure, but I think it is only available for MacOS and Windows..). The Adobe Acrobat Reader is free though..
