I cleanly installed a recent version of HAMM and have no problems booting from floppy. However, after a subsequent rebuild of the kernel (2.0.32) and required lilo execution, I have been unable to reboot the kernel. The only text printed to the screen is "LI".
I rebuilt and executed lilo a couple of times with no improvement. Note that the kernel that was originally installed with the distribution (/boot/linux) booted the system, but since the rebuild and subsequent execution of lilo, this kernel fails as well. I hope I don't have to reformat and reinstall! Thanks, Jeff Here is lilo.conf: $ cat /etc/lilo.conf boot=/dev/hda1 root=/dev/hda1 compact install=/boot/boot.b map=/boot/map vga=normal delay=20 image=/vmlinuz label=Linux read-only Contents of /boot: $ ls -l total 1912 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 142772 Nov 5 09:28 System.map-2.0.32 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 512 Nov 5 10:03 boot.0301 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4536 Mar 31 12:12 boot.b -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 300 Mar 31 12:11 chain.b -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 675524 Nov 5 19:32 linux -rw------- 1 root root 4096 Mar 31 13:01 map -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 444 Dec 12 05:24 mbr.b -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 308 Nov 21 06:40 os2_d.b -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 675524 Nov 18 22:56 vmlinuz-2.0.32 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 427956 Mar 27 16:48 vmlinuz-jeff Note: /vmlinuz -> boot/vmlinuz-jeff (my rebuilt kernel) /vmlinuz -> boot/linux (original kernel) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
