Thanks, It was in the modules file. I had not noticed that file, and I just checked, it is nowhwere in the docs I have. There was also a lot of unused stuff in the /lib/modules/2.0.3? directory.
I am beginning to realise that debian linux is not nearly as 'user unfriendly' as people make out.
