I can't enter international 8-bit characters in tcsh. All I get is a beep. Setting the environment variables LANG (to US_en) and/or LC_CTYPE (to iso_8859_1), or running 'stty pass8' doesn't help. bash and other programs display the entered characters though, and the keyboard mapping is correct.
I am using Debian 1.3.1 and tcsh_6.07.02-1 with NLS support (tcsh 6.07.02 (Astron) 1996-10-27 (i386-intel-linux) options 8b,nls,bye,al,nd).
