I read an article in LJ describing the Metro-X server (I think that was it anyway), which can drive multiple video cards (though only with the right cards). I don't know if Xfree has any support for this sort of thing, or exactly how it would shake out with interrupts and such. I too am interested in this. If you find anything else out let me know.
