Many thanks to Brian Skreeg, Hamish Moffatt and Torsten Hilbrich for thaking the time to answer my question. I have, after reading all sorts of winNT/linux mini-HOWTOs installed LILO onto the /dev/sdb5 (root) partition and copied it over to the file on the WinNT disk, and now I can boot Linux from WinNT OS loader. It works and I'm satisfied with the result.
