First, for your AWE Card try my HOWTO in /usr/doc/HOWTO/mini/ or at http://homepage.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/Marcus.Brinkmann/soundblaster.html or at sunsite. I don't have any advice about Cyrix. I have never heard of any problems, but neither did I heard something about positiv results (in fact, I never heard something about Cyrix and soundcards).
