I have a machine that is connected to the net and want to set up a slip or ppp server only so that I can dial into the machine via a connected modem with a PDA (palm pilot) that can establish either a slip or ppp connection. Setting this up must be covered in a FAQ, can I assign some kind of local ip address to the PDA when it tries to get one without creating problems because I am connected to the internet and the address may already be in use?
