dpkg-1.4.0.19 compiled fine on my unknow gnu/linu box with 971031-egcs (except a few compiler warnings). I then installed the binaries but was no able to use dpkg cause the file "/usr/var/dpkg/status" is absent (not found) on my system. Where can I get it ?
