way back in KDE they used "kmix"... i use rexima, others use amixer or
aumix... any of those 4 would work.  This would adjust the volume for
everything, not just system sounds in KDE, if you just want to adjust
system sounds in KDE (change desktop, open window, etc...) I cannot
help you, I don't run it now, but I know you can do it!
