I had a bit of difficulty getting dump to work with my T-4000s (4Gb TR-4).
What worked for me was defining the tape size in 1K blocks (even though the
tape block size is different):
dump 0ufB /dev/nst0 4000000 /
So, in your case, try
dump 0ufB /dev/nst0 2000000 /
