I have been using the hotlead program for downloading from emusic.com. It is available from http://www.arcaner.com/hotlead.shtml . It works with the new emp format. There is also a utility, emp2m3u, that converts emp files to m3u files and plays them on xmms, I have no experience with this utility, but it is available at http://davido.ouvaton.org/emp2m3u/ .
