If sendmail can't determine the FQDN for the host it's running on, it gets excited. It will still be able to SEND mail, however. Obviously, it won't receive mail, but since you're using fetchmail for that, it's no big deal. I had the same errors when I was running sendmail on an internal host (10.1.1.100) that wasn't nameserved. The nameserve lookup is probably what sets off diald. I would take a look at the follwing lines in sendmail.cf: # my official domain name # ... define this only if sendmail cannot automatically determine your domain #Dj$w.Foo.COM : : : -- : TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to : [EMAIL PROTECTED] . : Trouble? e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] . : : -- Nathan Norman MidcoNet 410 South Phillips Avenue Sioux Falls, SD 57104 Voice: (605) 334-4454 Fax: (605) 335-1173 email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .
