Hi, is it possible to use an old 3dfx voodoo graphics card?
I have a diamond stealth 2000 (S3-Virge)
and a diamond monster 3dfx (voodoo graphics)
I am have tried this with both the stock debian 2.4-18 kernel:
$ uname -a
Linux 2.4.18-k6 AMD-K6(tm) 3D processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
and with a custom Kernel configuration:
Character Devices
Direct Rendering Manager (XFree86 DRRI suport)
3dfx Banshee/Voodoo3+
(but, unfortunately, this seems to be tdfx, not 3dfx)
> CONFIG_DRM=y
> CONFIG_DRM_NEW=y
> CONFIG_DRM_TDFX=y
I am running xfree86 4.2.1:
$ dpkg -l |grep -i xfree86
ii xfree86-common 4.2.1-3 X Window System (XFree86) infrastructure
ii xlibmesa3 4.2.1-3 XFree86 version of Mesa 3D graphics
library
ii xserver-xfree8 4.2.1-3 the XFree86 X server
with glide2:
$ dpkg -l |grep -i glide
ii glide2-bin 2001.01.26-1.1 Binaries for glide2.
ii libglide2 2001.01.26-1.1 Graphics library for 3Dfx Voodoo based
cards
http://www.xfree86.org/current/Status2.html#2 suggests that voodoo graphics
should work starting with xfree86 4.2.1.
Is there additional configuration that needs to be done?
TIA,
Dennis Krinke
