 I want to add something: The POP3 protocol deletes messages only when
the client closes succesfully the connection. So if this happens..

RETR 1
DELE 1
RETR 2
DELE 2
<connection lost, client didn't issue QUIT command>

 Messages 1 and 2 won't be deleted.
