Not exactly. Sometimes what you call "author's email address" is a non-existing one. So whatever information goes into the original Reply-To should be preserved. Or just simply the original poster wants to be replied to another email address. I think this is a good idea. I really believe that having no Reply-To for mailing lists is the best "default state", and users willing to change this could/should do this for their own.
