Hello there Eugene:
To my knowledge your 1996 time stamp will have no affect
on your systems functionality If your bios clock year was set
to 1998 during installation, it could potentially affect you system
and only if you were compiling any of the system components.
If you are inclined, you can use the touch command to place
those affected files into the proper year. But to be perfectly
honest, I don't know how you would identify those files with a
bad time stamp. Much of the Debian distribution comes with a
1996 time stamp. Personally I would just set my bios clock
and leave the system files alone.

Dear Users,
Hope to get an advice concerning this situation.
I have almost finished the installation of Debian
when I noticed that the board clock
was not set corectly (YY was 1996 :( ,shame! ).
Though, a can tolerate the wrong files time stamp, but ...
Can it cause some problems? I mean some dependencis, or
something like that.
