Is it possible to hook 3 or more PC's together using their serial port with Linux in order to make a simple network? Where do you get such cables? Yes. You will need two (or more) null-modem serial cables (sometimes sold as "LapLink cables") from JDR Microdevices, Radio Shack, or any of a zillion other places; and you'll want to read the PPP-HOWTO, which can be found on the Web or in your /usr/docs/HOWTO directory after installing the appropriate packages.
