My opinion is, that you can install the Debian 1.2 directly from the InfoMagic-LDR.Dec96 without need to use the real-time ftp. See ftp:ftp.fortuna.org/pub/linux/Debian/InfoMagic-LDR.Dec96 as an example. However, to keep up with the progress, you will need to begin to upgrade your Debian system asap.
