David,

Thanks very much. I am a new (or new again ... I haven't been on the
list for a while) subscriber to debian-users. I tried looking for
answer in the archives on www.debian.org, but they are not up-to-date
with the list (i.e. nothing later than Nov. appears) and in any event
what is there doesn't look quite right: a listing of entries entitled
"No Subject" ... when I follow a link, the document is 700+K and I
was too impatient to go wading through the whole thing, considering
it was out-of-date. Is this the normal state of affairs for the
archive?

Thanks also to the other respondents who also gave me this fix.
My system is now back on its feet again.

Ben.
