Is this a valid question ?
As I and a friend frieend with a Gateway 2000 have finally discovered, that is a very good question. No, PS/2 mouse support is not in not compiled in and doesn't appear to be available as a module. You'll need to reconfigure and recompile. Once you have installed the kernel-source package you want, follow the directions in /usr/src/linux/debian.README. I hope this helps.
