Yes it is big - on the other hand, add up the totals for vim plus mutt plus slrn (the other winning combination) - its not as big as emacs but its no lightweight; and the integration of editor, mail, news makes up for a lot! Gnus is marvellous as a mailreader. I moved to Xemacs for other reasons, but stay put mostly because of Gnus. If you are already proficient with emacs it might be worth trying Gnus for mail. The tutorial on my.gnus.org is a good place to start. The Jed editor makes a good lightweight "emacs" if you _must_ change. All totally subjective of course ;-) Glyn -- Debian Home http://www.debian.org Debian Planet http://www.debianplanet.org/ For the children http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-jr/ In a hurry??? http://qref.sourceforge.net/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
