Hi I have two Debian boxes, and I'm trying to move some files directly between them (w/o the hub or the Internet).
I tried connecting them using a cross-over cable and assigning them arbitrary IP addresses. However, when I try pinging, no connection can be established; tcpdump also produces no output. The network options are "UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST" with Mask:255.255.255.0 Any ideas?
