Dear Bruce, Thank you for responding. Just to comfirm, I did get the files from ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/unstable/disks-i386/, and specifically: "1440_boot_floppy-1.3.100-4". The 1.3 at the end of this file led me to believe it's version. BTW why is there four of these? Which one should I pick? Here's the copy that followed the result of inserting my root disk at the prompt: "RAMDISK 1474560 starting 0x00240000 insert root VFS: Disk change detected on device 210 RAM disk trying oldstyle RAM image RAM disk trying oldstyle RAM image insert Debian GNU/Linux Root Disk and press enter" When I do this I get this message: "[MS-DOS FS Rel. 12,FAT 12,check=n,conv=b,vid=0,gid=0,umask=022,bmap] [me=0x6c,cs=1248,#f=m,fs=40358,f1=27462,ds,8448,de=29807,dat a=10320,se=26207,ts=-808993323,ls=133641] transaction block size=512 HPFS: hpfs_read_super: not HPFS kernel panic: VFS:Unable to mount root fs on 0:0200" >That BusLogic interface should work. This time I made it through to the color partition menu, but again was unable to find any drives or partitions to talk with the interface. So I just restarted and aborted the effort until I found out more. (I gave a quick look at freeBSD and quickly repented after finding the install documentation to be much more user hostile).
