Are their any local linux user groups (LUGs) where you live. They should only be too pleased to help you with your problems. A re-install should not (never?) be necessary, although the learning experience is helpful. I suggest also as root (you are connected to net? -- if no then when connected to net) issue the following commands: 1. apt-get install debian-doc debian-reference 2. apt-get install wget bzip2 Then issue the following command as a normal user which will download a nice linux course, so be in your home directory: wget -O - http://rute.2038bug.com/rute.html.tar.bz2 | tar -xvvjf - Good luck, it is difficult at first, gets a bit easier, then gets harder again when you realise you can't learn it all. Concentrate on the tools of the trade - nethack is a good start :-) -- Chris. ====== -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
