Maybe I should have added that I put an entry /etc/hal/fdi/preferences.fdi to set the storage.automount_enabled_hint == true for any removable media. > > Now I just have to figure out my usb memory stick. g-v-m reports: > > manager.c/818: New Device: > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_3606_168_100_-1_0000000000037E > libhal.c 911 : Error sending msg: No property info.capabilities on > device with id > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_3606_168_100_-1_0000000000037E > libhal.c 911 : Error sending msg: No property info.capabilities on > device with id > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_3606_168_100_-1_0000000000037E > manager.c/818: New Device: > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_usb_device_3606_168_100_-1_0000000000037E_0 > libhal.c 911 : Error sending msg: No property info.capabilities on > device with id > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_usb_device_3606_168_100_-1_0000000000037E_0 > libhal.c 911 : Error sending msg: No property info.capabilities on > device with id > /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_usb_device_3606_168_100_-1_0000000000037E_0 > manager.c/818: New Device: /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/scsi_host_4 > manager.c/818: New Device: /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/scsi_4_0_0_0 > libhal.c 911 : Error sending msg: No property info.capabilities on > device with id /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/scsi_4_0_0_0 > libhal.c 911 : Error sending msg: No property info.capabilities on > device with id /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/scsi_4_0_0_0 > manager.c/818: New Device: /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/block_8_0 > > I'm not sure how to fix this one.\ I should have added here that in the hal device manager "tree" I can navigate all the way down to a USBDrive2.0 which has all the info about my usb stick. The device with info.udi = scsi_4_0_0_0 is it's parent. Seems like g-v-m doesn't navigate to the end of the "tree".
