For server administration I recommend the "Linux Administration Handbook" by Nemeth, Snyder, and Hein, this book covers intermediate and advanced administration with examples for Debian and two other distros. Both, an intermediate linux user as well as for server administration
I also highly recommend, for both administration and casual use, O'Reilly's "UNIX Power Tools". This is a very fun book, with lots of informative posts from Usenet in its old days when it was still useful, and neat hyper-links from part of the book to another. (It's not meant to read cover to cover except the first part.) "UNIX Power Tools" alone takes you from an ordinary user to a wizard, it's well worth the price.
