Better would be to fix your mouse so you wouldn't have to. "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86" should walk you through the process. Where is your mouse and what type is it? Serial, USB, ps/2, ...? Or maybe you're just missing a kernel module it needs? What's "lsmod" say? Alternatively, you could configure gpm (the console mouse) and have it pass along mouse events to X, then tell X your mouse is at /dev/gpmdata; run gpmconfig. -- Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
