I have not been successful many times when compiling modular kernels before but after downloading 2.6.11-7, I did not get any errors at all. Everything went smoothly. I sh ould mention that I used the knoppix 3.8's .config to start with and then removed some unwanted stuff in menuconfig. HTH Deboo
