as root: /etc/init.d/kdm stop /etc/init.d/gdm stop /etc/init.d/postgresql stop or even better, do the upgrade in single user mode: telinit 1 then when you've finished, go back to runlevel 2: telinit 2 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
