That's strange. I have gnupg2 and gpgsm version 1.9.11+cvs20040924-5 installed without libopensc0. Anyway, libopensc0 seems to be only in testing (I have unstable, testing and experimental in my sources.list): $ apt-cache policy libopensc0 libopensc0: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.8.1-7 Version Table: 0.8.1-7 0 700 ftp://ftp.de.debian.org testing/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status For me, gpgsm depends on libopensc1, which is in unstable: $ apt-cache show gpgsm |egrep ^Depend Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.2.ds1-4), libgcrypt11, libgpg-error0 (>= 1.0), libksba8, libopensc1 (>> 0.9.4), libpcsclite1 (>= 1.2.9-beta6-1), libusb-0.1-4 (>= 1:0.1.8), zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.1) By the way, is there an easy way to print all dependencies of a package along with the installed versions of those dependencies? -- Got Backup?
