As I said in my previous response, you use your bootloader for that,
since it's an option for the kernel. Thus if you use lilo, stick it
to your append="" line in /etc/lilo.conf og /etc/lilo.config (I
don't remeber since I don't use it), for grub you put it in
/boot/grub/menu.lst.
