complaints when gnome-based packages are upgraded.

Recently, every time when I upgrade or install a package on a sarge box, 
an annoying message always pops up:

** (process:9094): CRITICAL **: file eggdesktopentries.c: line 2223 
(egg_desktop_entries_add_group): assertion 
`egg_desktop_entries_lookup_group (entries, group_name) == NULL' failed

btw, all gtk softwares such as gedit, have errors:
*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice
I have no clue.  Any ideas? Thanks.
