Thanks. It was caused by an extension "duplicate tab".

Works fine for me (mozilla-firefox 1.0-4 on Sid), and 'querybts mozilla-firefox' doesn't show any bugs reporting this issue.
Have you tried reinstalling mozilla-firefox? Might it be a problem with an extension you have installed?
