OK, I've been through everything I can think of: boot parameters: acpi=off noapic pci=noacpi pci=biosirq recompile kernel without any modules, without APIC module-assistant auto-install nvidia (kernel already compiled without 4K stacks) (have not included rivafb)
the nvidia module installs fine but still get a blank screen.
I'm going off the nvidia hardware, my mother also cannot make it work. Can see a graphics card purchase on the horizon...
Any suggestions in the meantime?
