hiya, check out the ucbmpeg package. it comes with a program called mpeg_encode, which can let you create mpegs from groups of numbered jpgs or ppm files. creating the config file is a little less than intuitive, but it comes with tons of examples in /usr/share/doc, and i can send you mine if like.
