Greetings,

Anyone have experience with Sprint PCS phones and linux? Using the
Vision service as internet connection. As those who have or do know
the way it works is the connection disconnects on phone and reconnects
when data is requested. This can cause some considerable lag times
while it reconnects. The PPP link does not terminate however. To
solve this ping is a usual way to. Just let a ping run to keep the
connection alive. Ping does not seem to do the trick in Linux
however. Ping seems to die at random times.. it just hangs. I have
seen it hang at the 30th request and I have seen it hang at he 3,000th
request. Running a Ping in windows works. (yeah,
it-works-in-windows(tm)). Anyone know the difference in the ping in
windows and linux? Is it a TCP Stack issue that makes this not work
as well in linux?

Regards
