Create a file named .gtkrc-2.0 in your home directory that reads


       gtk-key-theme-name = "Emacs"

Worked for me, anyway.


thanks or the tip. after writing the email I found this on the web, too, tried it but with no success! Would love to hear whether other folks are having the same issue.
