Guess you were right, proxies were enabled. I commented out the lines:
<IfModule mod_proxy.c> ProxyRequests On
from 'httpd.conf'. But I am still getting a lot of entries in access.log (I restarted apache)
that's not enough! Look for this line:
LoadModule proxy_module /usr/lib/apache/1.3/libproxy.so
Here you need the comment. If you still encounter problems, let us know...
