I followed the instructions and did:
1) apt-get update.
successfull
2)apt-get install cupsys cupsys-bsd cupsys-client foomatic-bin samba smbclient qs-esp a2ps
I got my first error message: couldn`t find package qs-esp
I ignored it deleted the qs-esp and carried on in installation.
while installing towards I got an error saying something like that I have no broadcasting supported by the version on distribution I run or something like that and also something multicasting not being supported. This happend while the screen was running durring intall. Is there a way how to retrieve this info?
the last two lines after install were: grep:/etc/foomatic/filter.conf.debconf-old:No Such file or directory cat://etc/foomatic/filter.conf.debconf-old:No Such file or directory
I ignored this as well and went to part 2.3
where it sayis in the document and executed first line:
lpadmin -p Laser -v parralel:/dev/lp0 -P /root/laser.ppd
I got this message: lpadmin:add-printer failed:client-error-not-found.
I did not preced to the rest of the commands, since I think I got enough errors already
Two more details: I am logged in as root and the printer is not phisicaly connected.
