I have done all that you say, but it still is not working. should I tell kde the device is OSS or ALSA? I have checked all the volume levels (that I can) in alsamixer. kmix does not show any mixers available. lsmod Module Size Used by snd_emu10k1 91656 2 snd_rawmidi 20324 1 snd_emu10k1 snd_pcm_oss 49064 1 snd_mixer_oss 17344 1 snd_pcm_oss snd_pcm 84744 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_pcm_oss snd_timer 21060 1 snd_pcm snd_seq_device 6536 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_rawmidi snd_ac97_codec 66372 1 snd_emu10k1 snd_page_alloc 8968 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_pcm snd_util_mem 3264 1 snd_emu10k1 snd_hwdep 7172 1 snd_emu10k1 snd 46244 12 snd_emu10k1,snd_rawmidi,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_timer,snd_seq_device,snd_ac97_codec,snd_util_mem,snd_hwdep soundcore 7392 2 snd There is no mention of the sound card in dmesg. Does this mean that the card is not being detected by the kernel? What am I doing wrong? Thanks -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
