The list of packages being kept back is growing each time I run "aptitude dist-upgrade". Here is a current example:

I haven't held or removed any packages - only run "aptitude".
This seems to be a new feature of some releases back. Try hitting Shift-u and see if they are now marked as upgradable.
Thank you for your suggestion! Unfortunately I found <shift>-u had no effect.
What is wrong with aptitude? Has no one else observed this behavior? I am experiencing it on each of three machines running Debian.
