What would give you that idea?  You can have unattended boot just like
any other boot loader.  Yes, you can turn off unattended booting just
like you can in LILO if you're the kind of person who insists on
watching every boot for curiosity's sake or to make sure nothing
suspicous or too unusual has happened to cause it to go down in the
first place.  Just in additional to the menu, you can hit c on the
boot menu to get a command prompt that's more like a minimal shell
than what you're used to in LILO.
