As previously stated, you will want to use a dynamic dns service such as dyndns.org. If you sign up with them the rest is pretty simple.
apt-get install ddclient and after the configuration and installation, since you are behind a gateway, the following line needs to be added to the end of /etc/ddclient.conf use=web, web=checkip.dyndns.org This will ensure it the dyndns service gets your pubic IP.
