I'm running 2.6.4. The kernel docs refer to the use of 'evdev' and its friends for all input devices being planned for future kernels, but at the moment they only apply to USB. Looks like that transition has been made on your 2.6.7. Also all of my keyboard input stuff is built into the kernel, not as modules.
